Schedule

Week beginning September 21st:
>20th- I started to create a blog and explore how to use blogger. Being new to the website made it hard to use at first, however, I used pictorials and youtube to help me work out how the system works.
>25th- I have now begun to work on the preliminary task, this is including research into the conventions of school magazines and the layout of them. Also I have begun to look at music magazines and how they differ to other magazines.

Week beginning September 28th:
>29th- I began to create the flat plans for my school magazines. I have also planned the cover lines and all of the additional features that will be represented on the cover and contents page.
>1st- I have now uploaded the armature pictures that I took on a basic camera and will begin to create the cover on a website called PicMonkey. This enables me to add text and layer images  etc.
>3rd- I have completed the cover page due to already having all of the plans and coverlines. This meant that all I had to do was transfer and arrange the text.

Week beginning October 5th:
>6th- I have found that I cannot have the layout I had planned for the contents page if I create the contents page on PicMonkey. Due to this, I have chosen to use Microsoft Publisher. This will still allow me to make the layout I had planned and at the end, I will export it as a ,jpeg file so the cover will save as an image.
>9th- I have now completed the contents page and I am now preparing to evaluate my work. I have  learned how to use slideshare so that I can upload the progress of my work onto my blog, for future reference, I have also found out how to embed other documents and Prezi's onto .

Week beginning October 12th:
>14th- I am beginning to create a questionnaire for my main magazine task. This will include information about the genre I should be focusing on and the age I will be aiming my magazine at, etc. I will then analyse the results and put this onto a prezi or slideshare so that they are able to be uploaded onto my blog.

Week beginning October 19th:
>21st- Music magazine research. I have looked into all types of music magazine genres, and from my questionnaire I have chosen to create a Hip-hop magazine. This means I will focus on specific conventions of this genre and therefore I will have a deeper understanding of what is needed on my main magazine.
>23rd- I have began to focus on all of my work being uploaded onto my blog. It is important that I upload as I go along for organisational purposes.

Week beginning November 2nd:
>6th- I have now looked into and fully analysed many covers, contents pages and double page spreads. This means that I am confident enough to begin production planning for my magazine. This includes creating a star persona and creating flat plans for all of the pages I will create. I have also researched Richard Dyer and his Star theory, this has helped my to have an understanding of what is needed for a model for my magazine. I have created this on a prezi and will shortly be uploading it to my blog.

Week beginning November 9th:
>13th- I am now creating a star persona for my magazine. The way I will represent this person will be evident through the costume the model is wearing, the props included in the shot and also the background (location) for the image.

Week beginning November 16th:
>17th- After creating a star for my magazine, I have began to take the pictures for my magazine. Due to my chosen model not being available this weekend, I have chosen to postpone a longer shoot for Friday after school at Alexandra Palace skate park. I also had to create a plan for all of the props, lighting I will need, etc. Before the photo-shoot takes place, I will need to create a risk assessment for the entire process.
>20th- I am currently planning the layout sections of my double page spread. After taking the pictures and analysing them, I am now aware that my original plans will not have the best effect on the audience if I were to stick with that layout. This means that I will now create flat plans incorporating the new images.

Week beginning November 23rd:
>23rd- After knowing and seeing my star persona in pictures. I am now currently in the process of writing the article for the double page spread. This will be a formal article that will still be applicable to the audience of choice.
>27th- Next lesson in media, we will be presenting our magazine ideas to the class before production so that we can get feedback and ideas from new view points and perspectives. This will be beneficial to me as I am partly aiming the magazine towards my class' age group, meaning that they will be able to tell me what I am doing right and wrong.

Week beginning December 14th:
>15th- I have now began the production stage and will be working on this for a while. All of the development for the pages will be listed and shown on the blog.

Week beginning January 4th:
>5th- I have completed the cover for my magazine and will now be focusing on the contents page. This will be the task I will struggle with the most as the size and resolution of the images I have taken will not work in the way that I had hoped. However, I will analyse different layouts and images before I begin this production task.

Week beginning January 18th:
>19th- I have now completed my contents page and will be focusing on my double page spread. I have narrowed my chosen image down to four main options. From this I will ask my peers and get opinions of what image to choose. This will again, make sure that the images I am using will apply to my chosen target audience as well as looking professional and realistic.

Week beginning February 8th:
>9th- I have now began to talk about the screen shots I took during the making of my magazine. I will add these to my blog under the title 'Development pages' and have a separate page for each section of the magazine.

Week beginning February 15th:
>19th- I will be making sure all of the pages I have created on the blog are uploaded and fully completed.

Week beginning February 22nd:
>23rd- I have began to look at how to evaluate my production and how to answer the evaluation questions.
